Arts @ Large Mentorship Program

Arts @ Large seeks college students who have a passion for making arts education equitable for ALL students in the Greater Milwaukee area to participate in the Arts @ Large Mentorship Program.

Description
Arts @ Large provides multidisciplinary artist residencies in Milwaukee Public Schools. Opportunities are available for college and university students to assist artist educators in short and long-term arts-integrated project-based learning experiences in K-8 classrooms or with a community organization.  Opportunities are also available for students to work side-by-side with an arts administrator to experience the development, coordination and implementation of arts education programming.
Process
Arts @ Large schedules a variety of artist residencies in K-8 Milwaukee Public Schools. Projects are scheduled during the school day, after school and in the summer.  As project plans are solidified between artist educators and MPS school staff, Arts @ Large will make appropriate opportunities available for students accepted into the Arts @ Large Mentorship Program.  Students interested in participating in the Arts @ Large Mentorship Program will work in collaboration with their college and/or university student advisor and the Arts @ Large Program Coordinator to determine the experience best suited to their educational needs. Multiple Students will be accepted into the program for the school year and summer terms based on the needs of Arts@Large.
