Communications & Development Associate

Description: The Communications & Development Associate supports organizational storytelling and
administrative operations across platforms including: program documentation and communications, donor
cultivation and stewardship activities, grant writing and reporting, database management, and fundraising events.
The Communications & Development Associate effectively describes and promotes the organization to all
stakeholders.

Direct Report: CEO
Secondary Report: COO
 

Communications
● Program Documentation

  • Ensure program staff provides documentation in the form of film, photography and project descriptions of in-school programs, special events, etc.

  • Collect qualitative / quantitative data from program staff

  • Create written and video-based program highlights, success stories to share with all stakeholders

● Communications and Marketing

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of communications strategy

  • Assist with email marketing, print/radio/TV marketing and press relations, social media, registrations, contact lists & data entry

  • Market events on community platforms as needed (MARN, WPA, OnMilwaukee, Milwaukee 365, etc.)

● Fund Development

  • Assist in preparation of fund development packages and cover letters

  • Assist with the preparation and writing of grant applications; create support materials

  • Cross-check donor recognition across all print, digital, and media platforms

  • Provide content material, prepare paperwork, and provide support for grant writing & reporting

  • Other tasks as assigned

 

2-Month Skill Training
● Programs and interfaces including

  • Bloomerang (donor management, email marketing, surveys, and registrations)

  • Google Driv

  • Fund Development & Non Profit Training to include one-on-one mentorship with CEO.

 

Skills: Writing & Communication, Organization, Time Management, Presentation, Project Coordination and
Delegation. Levitation Skills. Must bring invisibility cloak on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

 

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or higher in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, or
Arts Management. Valid driver’s license.

 

Salary Range (commensurate with experience): $38,000 - $42,000. Includes health insurance benefits, Simple
IRA contribution.
