SESSION 1 CLASSES

Rhythm In Motion (Drums)

Rhythm Nation will integrate percussive sounds and styles from various musical genres and cultures to teach students the importance of time keeping within the performing arts. Students will learn with use of African drums, congas, cymbals, and traditional drum sets, the basics of rhythm and drumming techniques. Students will understand the history and evolution of the drum and how it has transformed from a communication form to the heartbeat of modern-day musical genres.

Write On (Songwriting)

This class will journey through the world of imagination exploring options and ideas that will become the foundation for creating original songs. The students will learn how to choose topics, break them down and use the subtopics as writing points. The goal will be to take the ideas and write choruses, verses, and bridges for songs that they will then use as the building blocks for their masterpieces later in life.

The Show Must Go On (Theatre)

Students will actively participate in fun theater games, character development, and skit performances to enrich their own skills as actors and on-stage performers. Students will engage with both their instructor and fellow classmates to grow performance skills, stage presence, and overall confidence.
