Creative Mending 101: Part 2- Embroidery and Patches

Creative Mending 101 is an introduction to upcycling class that introduces aspiring fashion creatives to the skill and art of hand sewing.  In this 2 part  workshop students will learn about the concept of upcycling and learn basic sewing and surface design techniques that they can then apply to the creation of their own unique upcycled projects.  Families will be introduced to skills such as proper button sewing and basic hand stitches that can be used to extend the life of their existing garments in a creative way. Participants should bring their own garment to upcycle.  Recommended garments include denim jeans or jackets, old button down shirts, or a favorite blazer.
