Milwaukee Classical Guitar Society Guitar Class Description

The Milwaukee Classical Guitar Society is excited to offer the community high-quality virtual group guitar lessons in partnership with Arts @ Large. The versatility of the guitar lends itself well for students to be able to apply what they learn in this class to other musical styles. The class is open to beginners and to beginner-intermediate guitarists. Instruction will be tailored to the level of the individual students and to the group as a whole. Students will learn technique, basic music reading, music and how to play in an ensemble. Students with prior experience will have an opportunity to work on solo pieces as well. Live lessons will be recorded and available for students to review throughout the week. Additional mini recorded teaching tips will be available to students as well.

Classes will be held every Saturday for 6 lessons from 3-4 pm from May 1- June 12 (skipping May 29). At the end of the six weeks, students will have an opportunity to perform a virtual mini-recital in an ensemble, and possibly as a soloist on June 19th. Registrants will also receive free admission to a Milwaukee Classical Guitar Society concert in the fall.

Students must provide their own nylon string guitar and tuner. Steel-string and electric guitars are not suitable for this course.  Registrants need access to a computer with video capabilities, and reliable internet. We look forward to playing with you!

Registration fee: $270. Class size 4-6.
